What’s Your Car Worth?

“Four Ways to Find Your Car’s Value”

When the time comes to sell your car, you want to get the best price, but you want to make the procedure as simple and quick as possible, one of the first questions you need to answer is, how do you really know what to ask for your car? Asking too little for your car is leaving money on the table. That is no good. Ask too much and you may not get results. Here are five ways to find out what your car is worth.

Method #1: The family & friend appraisal.

Uncle Lloyd says your car is just like the one he had in ‘78. It was a classic. Hang on to it, he says. It will be worth a fortune. Uncle Lloyd is nice, but you shake your head. You don’t want to wait for a possible future sale price. Your neighbor, Terrance, on the other hand, thinks you should be able to get about $12,000. That price, coincidentally, is about $1,000 less than the dealer told him his car was worth.

Method #2: Google. And Google… And Google….

You find and search various websites. You search for cars for sale like yours, then you search for cars in your area, then you search for cars with your mileage, and paint job… and color…. You end up with a price range so wide it feels rather meaningless. Not only that, but you know those are asking prices. You don’t really know what these cars actually sold for. Next, you take a stab. Comparing all of your previous (faulty) information, you post an ad on Craigslist. You wait. You wait…. You lower the price $1,000 and wait.

Method #3: Check KBB.com and get a dealer opinion.

This can be an effective way to estimate the value of your vehicle. You simply enter the details about your vehicle and KBB.com can provide information based on other car sales. In addition, you can ask a local dealer to give you an estimate of your car’s value. Your dealer may be able to offer to buy your car or take it as trade on a new vehicle.

Or, Method #4: Get an appraisal and an offer.

Get started with Carzuz.com. Enter a few details about your auto and a picture. Ask for a free (yes, free!) appraisal and an offer. A professional will give you a free analysis of what your car is worth and an offer within minutes between the hours 9-7pm M-F and 9am-5pm on Saturday. You can take it or leave it. You can try to beat it. You can trade it in.

There are many ways to find your car’s value. Some, however, are more accurate than others. In the end, the value of your car is what someone else will really pay for it. Let Carzuz.com help you get the real story.
